This section covers an overview of how VMG DMS and VMG WMS are integrated. #
SECTION 1 – INTEGRATING WMS WITH DMS
As with most things in life, proper planning prevents poor performance.
You will be required to setup the connection between the Workshop system and the dealership system so that the dealership can…
- Create orders on the vehicle in the DMS system and send the order to the WMS
- Have the WMS open the order when creating a jobcard.
- Have the vehicle costing updated in the DMS when the jobcard is invoiced ensuring perfect profit per car in the DMS.
To do this you will need to do the following
- Create an internal supplier in the DMS
- Link the supplier in the WMS.
The completion of this section will enable users to do the following:
- Generate Orders from DMS for Workshop Repairs or PDI’s.
- Access all Vehicles in the DMS database.
- Create Job Cards.
- Create JC templates (e.g: PDI)
- Invoices. (Internal Non-VAT automatically creates Cost against vehicle in DMS)
- Account for all internal Workshop Transactions in Accounting. (Purchase and Sales journal entries for workshop transactions are created automatically upon processing of orders and invoicing of job cards and counter sales.)
- View detailed information about Internal Workshop Repairs or PDI’s (Materials, Labour, and Sublets)
- Manage Orders in detail with option for Authorization
- Quality control checklist.
