Training Users on WMS is vastly different to training users on DMS.
DMS training takes place over days and sometimes weeks due to the volume of data that is required to be “caught up” with.
WMS training is real time training, and depending on the amount of open WIP Job Cards, it should take no longer than 1 week to complete training with every user using WMS.
When training WMS customers, it is important that you have managed your calendar accordingly.
You will be required to be onsite when they open their doors to process Job Cards in the morning, then be back onsite wqhen the parts department begins to order parts. Back onsite agaion when the parts arrive and orders are processed and then assigned to their respective Job cards and again at close of business to help invoice completed Job Cards.
This process is repeated until the users can manage their tasks without you.
It is vital that you understand the life cycle of a vehicle as it moves through the workshop to have a great understanding of who does what and when (trigger points).
It’s at these trigger points that you will need to be present at the workshop, standing shoulder to shoulder with the user as they process real time data in their WMS with you to guide them, until such time you can observe them doing the work themselves without you by their side.
